devtrek I saw these guys performing in the plaza when I visited Santa Fe & it was a great addition to the trip. Their album work still captures that feeling of heartfelt street performers without sounding cheap, amateur, or unrefined. Favorite track: Up In The Woods.

They may come in all snide, but don't set yourself aside. It's a long train to ride, you gotta catch it on the fly. Drinking with the fates so pass the wine 'round here. You get a cloud in your face and a whisper in your ear. They'll put the last word on ya. And if god is willing and the creek don't rise; something special; I've got something in mind. We were up in the woods, we were up to no good. Some of it may be blurry, but the rest was understood. Had no time to reflect, had no time looking back. Better put yourself in check or those sirens are gonna lay your ship to wreck. Come, come, come inside, I got something you won't believe. Some of it may be blurry, but the rest is all you need. It's that homegrown, home sewn, demented to perfection. A full bodied high with a siren side and it don't need no correcting. We were up in the woods, we were up to no good. Some of it may be blurry, but the rest was understood. Had no time to reflect, had no time looking back. Better put yourself in check or those sirens are gonna lay your ship to wreck.

Got that old-timey religion, that old circle on a square. Got the Devil knocking on your back door. The more ominous is eminent the less we seem to care. Was it ever is? Appropriate? Oh, we work so hard to define what we cannot abide. Whoa, work so hard just to draw a line. In time, it came and went. Though, we never came across it went ahead and cut our losses. Was it ever is? Appropriate? Oh, tell me, is this a dream or is it only a joke? Whoa, a mirror held up to the smoke. Whoa, a mirror held up to the smoke. It's so hard to define. Gets so long winded and twisted, best to keep my tongue all tied. It's so hard to draw that line. Our sincerest adulation's- congratu-fucking-lations! Oh, we work so hard to define what we cannot abide. Whoa, work so hard just to draw a line. Oh, tell me, is this a dream or is it only a joke? Whoa, a mirror held up to the smoke. Whoa, a mirror held up to the smoke.

When it all comes home to roost, you best go run and hide. Like a subtle twenty-three degrees and you'll know it in the winter time. But that's alright, yeah, I'll hold my head up high, until it rolls into that basket. Then I'll see you on the other side. No one recalls requesting, but they did what they did. Now we're caught up in the thick of it. It is what it is, and that's alright. Yeah, I'll hold my head up high, until it rolls into that basket. Then I'll see you on the other side. Oooh, save it for the epitaph. Oooh, save it for the... When it all comes home to roost, you best go run and hide. Like a subtle twenty-three degrees and you'll know it in the winter time. Hey, shine on, sing it sweet, Oh Darlin come get next to me and make it like Hosanna. Hey 'sanna, hey, hey, I think you know what I'm saying. Lay the silver on my eyes, sing that 'Hallelujah." Hossana-Ho, Hossana-Hey, Hossana lay me six feet south. Little lark sing it sweet, sing it twice so I can lose myself. And then won't you sing it once again? There aint nothing to see here. There aint no cause for concern. They remain "sincerely yours," until further notice, and they'll all get their turn. I advise we get lost. They've got signs, they've got fences, they've got odds stacked against us. They've got drones! Drones! Drones in the backwoods! I advise we get lost. Don't need no weather vane, explaining we're out on our luck. We remain half-hearted, half amused, and near departed until push comes to shove. There aint nothing to see here. There aint no cause for concern. They remain "sincerely yours," until further notice, and they'll all get their turn. I advise we get lost. They've got signs, they've got fences, they've got odds stacked against us. They've got more people dying over shit you've never heard of! They've got drones! Drones! Drones in the backwoods! I advise we get lost.

Haunted 04:06
We were calling from the hills, we were calling even louder than the cawing. It was howling through the leaves right back to me. Every feather was a sign, maybe, perhaps not. Every candle was a wish that was burning that I'm thankful I forgot. We were calling even louder than the cawing. Feathers floating and the leaves they were falling. It was howling through the trees right back to me from the other side. It was a cold dark winter in a cold dark shack, too much time to reflect, and my mind aint come back. Double dime on the nickle but the needle still skips, aint no time to repent, and my mind aint come back. We were calling even louder than the cawing. Feathers floating and the leaves they were falling down. To come across it left me haunted. Homemade liquor sure let a sorrow drown. Homemade liquor let a sorrow drown. I auditioned for the world in a cold read tomb, under the cold dark light of a cold dark moon; They aint called back. I aint down when they make it all needles and pins, laced with venom when they stick in, but they aint called back. We were calling even louder than the cawing. Feathers floating and the leaves they were falling down. To come across it left me haunted. Homemade liquor sure let a sorrow drown. Homemade liquor let a sorrow drown.

I've been in the company of the company's company it's not so inviting. I've seen the progressing of man oppressing even the slightest of whims it's not so exciting. Not like time is on your side. You got the reason to roll let's ride. Could be you're just as crazy as I am. If it all catches up with us and we face the gallows pole just say you won't go. No, just say you won't go, no I won't go if you say you won't go, so just say that you won't go. No, I won't go if you say you won't go, say that you won't go. Hearts full of greed and the mountain is full of coal. The soil is ours to toil, the sides are chose, war is close. When that toiling is over Hallelujah, I suppose. We'll dance upon the rooftops while they chase a Holy Ghost. Baaa Baaa Baaa Baa Baa Baaa Baa Baa Baaa Baaa Baaa Baa Baa Baaa Baa Baa Hallelujah, I suppose. I've been in the company of the company's company, it's just too much company. You're too comfortable entirely, doing so much talking down, you're not so above me. Blood Turnip 02:31
Pebbles for skipping, wells for wishing, dreams sinking like a stone. Free to go whether, no chain on your tether, what goes up must crash down. Where ever you are they're always breaking out the second fiddle. Whenever you want a chorus girl to sing you a song. Thought we was playing mutual respect like a silent contract. As of recent this burden is increasing and I'd rather just re-neg on that. Your words they tell a different story from your actions so I got to wonder when you're hitching up your wagon to me. Like, wait up, hold up, if you please... You can squeeze but a turnip don't bleed. And now it's null and voided this bridge is up and burned as far as I'm concerned. And it's a sore disappointment, like, you can squeeze but a turnip don't bleed. And now it's null and voided this bridge is up and burned as far as I'm concerned. And it's a sore disappointment, like, wait up, hold up, maybe this one aint my ride.

Roll on, roar on, old back waters. Let me sit beside you watch the ripples turn to golden fronds. He said "It'd be a hard one Darlin." He was right on, he was right on. Oh, yes, them waters be high and rising yet. Like a dog barking on a first impression, heading you straight to the destination where the best intentions are laid to rest you know. Whoa, straight to the point! We aint got all day you know, time is money when the blood don't flow. Time is money when the blood don't flow, and there aint enough to go around, no. Roll on, roar on, old back waters. Let me sit beside you, see the trouble is we don't belong. He said "It'd be a hard one Darlin." He was right on, he was right on. The carrot it does dangle and the donkey pulls the cart. This eagle has landed on your face, perhaps just on a lark. If they can't steer this ship to the bottomless pit just as fast as they can pull your card... Fuck it. Whoa, straight to the point! We aint got all day you know, time is money when the blood don't flow. Time is money when the blood don't flow, and there aint enough to go around, no.

Thanks, thanks for nothing, it could've been worth something, went ahead and laid that plan to waste. All I suggest is that I've seen greener pastures than the look upon my face when you're around. It, it aint nothing, they'll all get their comeuppance while we'll be sitting pretty in our souls. We'll be dancing in the faces of all those who ne-er-do-well, as they choke upon their crow. That's just how the wind will blow when we're around. The road beyond can be more trouble than the one you're on. Don't let the groundhog be your mailman. Don't be concerning where you need not be concerning all the time. Thanks, thanks for nothing where it could've been an Eden we just took to ego feeding in its stead. Is punk still dead?! 'Cause I need something to take the edge off of my mind while I still can. The road beyond can be more trouble than the one you're on. Don't let the groundhog be your mailman. Don't be concerning where you need not be concerning all the time. Thanks, thanks for nothing, thanks, you know you put it on yourself to make a mess of things. You really did a number. Couldn't of done it without you and for that I have to thank you. The road beyond can be more trouble than the one you're on. Don't let the groundhog be your mailman. Don't be concerning where you need not be concerning all the time.

Clouds keep pushing onward onto the western sky, out there casting shadows on the juniper and pines. Well, winter castes its coldness, fills my garden up with snow. I'm still breathing...I'm a little bit losing it... I don't know. I'm, I'm on a path least resistant. Never in a hurry to give up to what's going around. Never in a hurry to lay a cool hand down. But, I'm quick to find the humor in this modern disapproval. I object to your impressions on what hasn't happened yet. Clouds keep pushing onward onto the western sky, out there casting shadows punishment should suit its crimes. Well, winter castes its coldness, fills my garden up with snow. I'm still breathing...I'm a little bit losing it... I don't know. I'm, I'm on a path least resistant. Never in a hurry to give up to what's going around. Never in a hurry to lay a cool hand down. Bless my eyes, bound by seven bow strings from a lamb and not yet dry. Seven braids of hair into fabric on the loom. Tightened with a pin and then I send it on to you. Whoa, send it on to you. Momma told me not to go there, it must've slipped my mind. I love to listen to that old time banjo. I love to sip that rye. Lay down another five, so hit me now. Lay down, lay down another five. Strange abounds, bitten by a serpent, remedied then by horehound. Black Snake Root bound within the eye of the star. Warding off the strangeness and them wild packs of dogs. Whoa, they took them one by one. To sip that rye, lay down that five, you can say I did it all for love. Black Snake Root bound within in the eye of the star. Seven braids of hair into the loom, and then I send it on to you. Momma told me not to go there, it must've slipped my mind. I love to listen to that old time banjo. I love to sip that rye. Lay down another five, so hit me now. Lay down, lay down another five.
